The Rift

There's legends in the Mushroom Kingdom, a mirror so extravagant and glossy sleeps deep below ground. Rumors that one who finds it brings incredible power, that it's the key to lost riches, that it can bring great chaos if brought back to the surface...

I felt like getting weird with something this week, and since I'm in another mood to paint I might as well do something odd! This was originally going to be just an experimental soft painting only with Chelise, but I've never really gotten around to explaining how or where her home of The Lucent Kingdom even exists. I think I did fairly okay on this, but I think it's time I moved on to some of my other projects - I might be a perfectionist, but sometimes you just gotta know when to stop on something and move ahead!

Since Peach seems to be Magical Mushroom Macguffin-holding Supreme, the portal to Lucent is of course somewhere in the land. The same goes for Chelise's kingdom if there is a portal leading to the Mushroom World - Maybe in the right hands it'll bring the power and treasures one so deeply desires... Along with the trouble they've wrought upon their worlds.
